Fig has a way of making a simple bite feel generous. Its mellow sweetness brings a little Mediterranean warmth to breakfast and an irresistible contrast to savoury flavours. Just figs and sugar, with plenty of character.

Make a little moment of it: Serve with aged cheese and prosciutto, or spread on toasted sourdough. For dessert, spoon over vanilla ice cream and finish with a few walnuts.
